Locking Transactions

Enabling Restrict Changes to lock transactions on or before a specified lock date—letting admins prevent users from creating new entries or editing existing ones within the locked period.
Before you begin
  • Who can do this: System Admin User
What will happen once enabled (for reference as you proceed)
  • You cannot add new transactions dated on or before the lock date date.
  • You cannot edit existing transactions dated on or before the lock date.
  • Applies to all transaction modules: sales, billing, purchases, expenses, payments, and journal vouchers (JVs).
  • Viewing, exporting, and reporting remain available. Only adding/editing within the locked period is blocked.

Steps to set a lock date #

 1. In the upper-right corner, click Settings, then select Company.

 2. Scroll to the bottom to find Restrict Changes, then tick the checkbox to enable it.

 3. Select the time frame / lock date you want to restrict.

    • All transactions on or before this date will be locked.

4. Click Save.

Result: Oojeema will block saving any transaction dated on or before your selected lock date across all transaction modules. Viewing/printing/exporting/reporting still work.
