We know getting accounting clients is not an easy feat, especially for rookies. So we compiled several tips and tricks that worked for a lot of other accountants that we know and us.
What’s more:
We made sure this list applies to our local accounting environment. Hence, you’re assured you won’t run out of ways to score accounting clients:
Ads (Boost post on LinkedIn)
Did you know that LinkedIn gives you $50 you can spend on boosting posts or what we call ads?
If you create a page for your service, LinkedIn offers a $50 coupon you can use. With this amount, you can promote your page, your posts, or your website.
Just make sure it is optimized for maximum reach and reactions.

Business Cards
We go out almost every day. We encounter different types of people. But you know what we always forget? Footprints.
Yes, people may remember our faces, names, or other nice things about us, but that’s not our goal as client-hunters.
We want us to be their go-to accountants whenever they need help.
And one thing you can do that is to give them your business card.
But don’t let it be any other card. Make it something memorable.
Here’s an example:
If you haven’t noticed, this divorce lawyer’s business card highly reflects his profession.
To get you started, you may use Canva, a free designer you can use online.
Or…
You may also ask for professional help for a minimal amount. Some proven names are Paper Treats, Cards Customs, and Quantum Prints.
Co-working space
As telecommuting has become more popular, so has the co-working spaces that accommodate these individuals when they decide to meet up.
These meet-ups may be a great opportunity for you to showcase your expertise.
No, we don’t mean you’ll be a meeting crasher though.
What we’re trying to say is that you can work once at a co-working space from time to time, and once the opportunity presents itself, you can start rubbing elbows.
Some co-working spaces around the metros are The Grid, DreamWork (Davao), and Idealist (Iloilo).

Directories
Although directories in the Philippines may not help in boosting your site’s SEO, they can definitely help you become more searchable.
Yellow-Pages Philippines, for example, has a way of showing your business address and contact details after a user searches for a keyword.
All you have to do is submit detailed information about your or your business, and they’ll do the rest for you.
Elevator pitch
Whether you have a website or not, you need to create your elevator speech. Remember the business card and co-working space we mentioned earlier? They will work better if you have an elevator pitch.
So what is it exactly?
According to Investopedia, an elevator pitch is:
“a slang term used to describe a brief speech that outlines an idea for a product, service or project.”
Rumor has it that it’s called an elevator pitch because it should be short enough that you could say it within that short elevator ride.
And it doesn’t stop at merely saying it.
Your listener should understand what your business is all about and/or pique their interest.
How do you craft one?
Yes Philippines published an article about it courtesy of Mr. Joshua Aragon of Pushkart.ph. Octavio Peralta also shared some tips.
